i made an alternate version to moonworld, cutting out the intro so you can jump right in. you can also sprint, run faster, & jump higher!

i also want to stress the secret 'hidden' goal of the game, which is to meet and talk to the stars at the top of the map. 

i wanted to do this because i really loved this grapple-hook, exploration puzzle platformer style of gameplay i was tapping into. while i am working on a (currently unpublished) game i wanted to reflect on this previous method. i didnt want to do an overhaul, but i wanted to set things up a little differently to suggest more of a speedrun playstyle.

i made moonworld in 3 weeks using a custom player controller that switches between rigidbody & charactercontroller, a modified grapple hook asset, 'dreamtek splines' & 'fluid portals' assets,  procedural platforming pathways using geometry nodes, a handful of shapes, and a colour palette from an old blockland modder called truenos. part of me wants to rewrite all the systems and mechanics, but part of me kind of likes its little quirks.


i worked on a few more features- double jump, dash, teleporting, anti-grav stuff. having a grapple hook that put you in anti-gravity mode for a few seconds after firing was pretty interesting. ive got a bunch of ideas and id love to make another very soon. not sure which way it will go but i see the world forming through a little window in my brain.
