latest update: atelier mode
ATELIER MODE
i may edit this devlog later but for now...
loutra has been encased in some type of magical glass, and it has been lifted into the sky. it is sailing through the air, like it's an airship- but it's still in the process of being built. the space has changed dramatically. there's a new introduction sequence to show it off.
in the meantime, a new room has opened up, with a red curtain, and there's some film screenings at different times of the day.
there's a porthole exit out of the glass, leading out to the marina.
A Train To Paris is being shown again. Something's Wrong plays during the intro sequence.
the outbuilding is currently used as a workshop, and there's a disparate range of works on display from throughout the year.
a lightswitch has been installed in the outbuilding.
you can also hold E to glow.
there's some graphics changes:tweaks to lighting at night time, and shader replacements with custom shaders- prior to this, LOUTRA used assets & shaders that could not be redistributed. 'atelier mode', is the prototype version of LOUTRA that can be distributed as a unity project rather than a unity program, which allows for future collaborations and collective development.
as i've worked on loutra, i've grown to love working on updates. it's become a special kind of journalistic practice as i've developed this virtual environment and concept step-by-step.
this update combines a number of ideas i have wanted to implement.
